When travelling to the Cape Verde, it’s important to know that visa is NOT REQUIRED, but an entry fee is mandatory. You can pay this online in advance at www.ease.gov.cv or pay on arrival at the airport. For entry, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your planned return.
Since the Cape Verde Islands are outside Europe, you can buy a prepaid card at the airport to access the internet and use your phone.
While Euro is widely accepted on the islands, the official currency is the Cape Verdean Escudo. It’s also a good idea to exchange some money at the airport.
Cape Verde is warm all year round, with 300 sunny days a year. However, the island is often windy, and in winter these winds are stronger, so if you arrive in the winter months, it's a good idea to bring a sweater/light jacket in the evening hours.
